Julie: The Heart Behind Feather & Ink

In a world that often rushes past the quiet moments, Julie listens. She has always listened to hundreds of women in strive over some 30 years working in the women’s services landscape. She founded My Sister’s House Women’s Centre in 2014, and left for a more quiet life in Wales in 2022.

She now walks, & listens to birdsong, to the soft ache and joy of stories waiting to be told. Her work is not just creative—it’s devotional. Each word, each carefully chosen symbol carries the weight of emotional truth and the lightness of hope.

Julie is the now the founder of Feather & Ink, a letter subscription service that feels like a handwritten hug. It’s a sanctuary of poetic branding and nature-based wellbeing, where wrens take flight across seaside skies and quill nibs whisper of connection. Her monthly postcards are more than art—they’re invitations to reflect, to grow, to feel deeply and gently.

She blends literary, musical, and visual motifs with a rare authenticity, crafting experiences that resonate like a favourite song or a remembered dream. Her fictional writing & world of Maya is alive with emotional reciprocity and quiet devotion, a mirror to Julie’s own resilience and introspection.

Whether she’s writing her first fiction book, (having already published a non fiction book) refining a logo, writing a subscriber email, or designing a launch sequence, Julie moves with intention. She is grounded by nature, guided by metaphor, and fuelled by a vision that honours both beauty and clarity.

Her work is not just seen—it’s felt.

She completed a MA Creative Writing for Wellbeing in 2024, and has promoted wellbeing on social media for almost a decade. She lives now in Pembrokeshire , in the prettiest coastal cottage , up a hill overlooking a bay. As Maya would say, seeking out kindred spirits and saving words.

Julie is the story-weaver, stitching threads into meaning, seeing patterns where others see fragments - of experience into story.

Maya

She is the poetic soul in Julie’s first fiction book ( in development right now) who speaks in birdsong and ink, carrying messages of comfort, reflection, and emotional resonance. She’s not just a character; she’s a presence. A gentle guide through liminal spaces, a weaver of stories that feel like soft wind through feathers.

She arrives with the hush of wings and the scent of rain on stone. She believes in the healing power of handwritten words, in the way a wren’s flight can teach us courage, and how silence can be a kind of music.

Each letter she sends is a thread — spun from nature’s wisdom, stitched with emotional clarity, and sealed with a breath of devotion.

Maya doesn’t rush. She listens. She remembers.

She writes to remind you: you are not alone.

To Maya, Julie is the pulse beneath the page

— the one who gives her breath, memory, and meaning.

Maya exists because Julie dreamed her into being. But she also reflects Julie back: her tenderness, her longing, her clarity, her passion, her determination . She’s shaped by Julie’s emotional truths, yet free to speak in her own rhythm. Maya finds form. Julie is the one who makes her letters real, who folds them into envelopes and sends them into hearts.
